Chairman's Message

The volunteers of Children’s Home Society of Florida (CHS) are extraordinary in their dedication to bettering the lives of children and families, and I am honored to serve as the incoming Chair of such a wonderful group of individuals. As I follow in the footsteps of many outstanding State Board leaders, most recently Bill Preston, I look forward to working with you as we fulfill our responsibility to Florida’s most vulnerable citizens.

As part of this commitment, CHS has partnered with various child- and family-serving organizations as well as AARP to create Florida’s People – Florida’s Promise, hosting a series of public town hall meetings to hear directly from our legislative candidates. Through these forums, we have heard candidates’ strategies and priorities, if elected, on how they intend to protect our state’s most valuable resource – our people. These meetings also provided an opportunity for community members to express to local leaders just how important it is to invest in people…for our state, our economy and our future.

We all know that short-term cuts have long-term impact – Florida cannot simply tighten its belt in response to budget pressures. It’s time to elect optimistic, energetic leaders who are dedicated to reforming public services, finding new sources of revenue and making quality-of-life decisions for Florida’s long-term future.

It’s time to hold our state’s leaders accountable to ensure our most vulnerable citizens are not forgotten.

Sincerely,
Bob Moser
