There are so many exciting opportunities to make a difference in the life of a child! We'd love for you to join us in "Embracing Children. Inspiring Lives."

Volunteer

Volunteers work with programs assisting with breaking the cycle of child abuse for more and more children. Together, we can ensure more children are safe, healthy and prepared for life.  Currently, we are looking for volunteer mentors

Are you interested in mentoring a child (age 6-12) through Transitions Mentoring or mentoring a youth preparing to age out of foster care through Project 18 Mentoring?:

Are you able to commit to spending an hour each week with your mentee for a full year?:

Are you at least 21 years old?:

Do you have access to reliable personal transportation?:

Are you willing to permit CHS to request and review a background check?:

Mentors can help change the lives of:

  • Children ages 6 to 12 who live in a single parent household
  • Children who are in foster care
  • Teenagers "aging out" of the foster care system

Mentors must:

  • Be 21 years of age.
  • Complete an application, interview, and background screening.
  • Attend an orientation and training session.
  • Commit to at least one hour per week of face-to-face contact with youth.
