Forty members of the United Health Group Government Affairs Team painted the home of a Children’s Home Society of Florida foster family. After three hours of work, the exterior of home, living room and children’s bedroom had a fresh coat of paint. The volunteers also provided the family with holiday gifts and decorations.
The East Broward Auxiliary of the Children’s Home Society of Florida (CHS) will host its 21st Annual Black Tie Ball October 22, 2011, at the Westin Resort and Spa Fort Lauderdale. Event proceeds will benefit CHS’ Intercoastal Division. The theme this year is “Come One, Come All, to the Circus at the Ball,” and the evening will feature a cast of international cirque professionals, a casino, live music from the Valarie Tyson Band and much more. The Master of Ceremonies will be Neki Mohan from Local 10 News.
The 2011 National Barbie® Doll Collectors Convention, "Barbie® and Ken®: Spring Break 1961!" will be held at the Harbor Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida from July 27-30, 2011. Nine hundred collectors from around the world will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ken® doll and the 50th anniversary of Barbie® and Ken® as the ultimate couple with four days of events including workshops, programs, competitions, giveaways, auctions, shopping, and even a real beach party!
Children’s Home Society of Florida’s East Broward Auxiliary raised more than $142,000 during its 20th Annual Black Tie Ball "A Night at the Oscars." The funds benefit children and families served at Children’s Home Society of Florida’s I. Lorraine Thomas Children's Home and Family Support Center in downtown Fort Lauderdale.

Fort Lauderdale, FL (May 12, 2010) Children’s Home Society of Florida (CHS), Intercoastal Division, held its 9th Annual Helping Turn Lives Around Luncheon “Every hand in the life of a child makes a world of difference.” on Friday, April 30. With more than 250 guests, the annual luncheon raised close to $65,000 and featured Majic 102.7 Radio Host Donna Davis. Davis took the stage and presented the audience with compelling "behind-the-scenes" interviews with CHS foster families, adoptive parents and their children, and successful adopted daughter of Late Florida Governor Lawton Chiles, Rhea Chiles.
Evan McFall, a junior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School completed his first half marathon on January 31, 2010. He ran for the children of Broward County, raising $850 for Children's Home Society of Florida.
The Law Offices of Roger P. Foley hosted the 2nd Annual Broward County Courthouse Christmas party and raised more than $1,600 to benefit the I. Lorraine Thomas Children’s Emergency Home and Family Support Center.
Local IRONMAN Alfredo Aguirre raised $1,400 for Children's Home Society of Florida.
