CHS children receive early holiday surprise
Release date: 1/26/2009
January 26, 2009 (TAMPA, Fla.) Fifty children from CHS Gulf Coast Division programs received an early jumpstart on holiday festivities during November 2008. The annual Snow Globe event at International Plaza opened its Polar Express wonderland early for these children, all of whom, were handpicked to attend morning festivities. International Plaza in conjunction with the Pajama Program selected CHS to be the benefitting organization for this year’s event.
All the children, dressed in their new flannel jammies and elf accessories, received breakfast and a sit-down with the Polar Express conductor aboard the mythical Christmas Train. The conductor, a local actor, read part of the classic children’s holiday story and led the children on an excursion into the 20-foot-diameter globe. The children also received a visit from Santa Claus, and each child received a healthy snack, a new book and a photograph with Santa.
