Infant Mental Health Services

(Birth to age 5)

These services strengthen the primary relationship between infants/toddlers and their most important caretakers by providing counseling to depressed mothers and by helping with behavioral and emotional problems and trauma of infants and toddlers.

CHS’ infant mental health program serves Medicaid-eligible children from birth to age 5. Please refer children ages birth to 4 who are presenting symptoms such as: excessive aggression, excessive tantrums, impulsivity or are very overactive. You can make a referral on a child who shows very little emotion, or is extremely fearful, fussy, sad, or clingy. Children who have sleep or language problems or who are unable to perform normal developmental tasks can also be referred for services. Referrals are appropriate for children who have been identified through a CBHA as needing services. We provide counseling to the parent-child dyad that has been reunified, especially if the removal happened when the child was an infant and the reunification is happening when the child is older.

If your child would benefit from mental health counseling, please complete our referral form and mail it to:
