The Williams Family

Life before Children’s Home Society of Florida was hectic and challenging for Tim and Tracy Williams, to say the least.

Parents of two energetic girls proved more difficult with 11-year-old Taylor’s ADHD and anxiety disorder and 9-year-old Tory adjusting to her sister’s condition.

The Williams went to doctors, psychologists and the school system for help, but it wasn’t until joining CHS’ Family Life Education Program that life changed for the better.

Tim and Tracy are active in the ADHD Parent Support Group, and CHS counselors have given Taylor tools to help her control her condition and sleep better at night. The changes at home mean Tory no longer feels neglected.

The Williams have also learned realistic expectations and know now communication is vital for a happy household.

“We’ve learned to have so much more patience, and the conversations with other parents have been and continue to be very reassuring,” Tracy says. “Before the support groups, we never had any communication, now it is key.”
