The Moores' story

For five years, Heidi and Jim Moore did everything they could in hopes of adopting a little girl. Finally, last December, they thought the answer to their prayers was no, and they were ready to accept it.

The very next month, they received a call from CHS about a potential child to complete their family. Within two weeks, they met Jaclyn -- the family chemistry was instant.

Jaclyn was the oldest of five, making it difficult to become adopted. Her brothers and sisters were already accounted for, and Jaclyn was the only one left. But it was a perfect match for the Moores, who, by this time were looking for an older child, since their own son, James, had just turned 14. "We haven't decided who was more blessed, her or us!" Heidi says.

Heidi says the family was fortunate to have Children's Home Society of Florida on their side, and they plan to keep in touch with their CHS family.
