August is

Back-to-School Month!

Last year you helped collect more than 750 backpacks and school supplies for our children.

If you're interested in helping the children in our care start off the school year just like everyone else or are interested in tutoring our children throughout the school year, please call Myra Simmons at 493-7738. Click here for a list of school supplies needed.

Children.

Golf.

Winn-Dixie.

What do these three things have in common?

No, there aren't children playing golf in Winn-Dixie!

You can help embrace children and inspire lives when you purchase tickets to the Winn-Dixie Jacksonville OPEN -- the area's first Nationwide Tour coming to the First Coast in October -- by designating your sales toward CHS.

The Buckner Division, located in Jacksonville, is proud to be the founding home of Children's Home Society of Florida. In 1902, Dr. D.W.Comstock came to Jacksonville as a representative of the National Children's Home Society, which was formed in Illinois in 1883. He, along with other Jacksonville religious and civic leaders, formed Children's Home Society of Florida on November 17, 1902.

The Buckner Division's 165 employees provide services to children and families in Duval, Baker, St. Johns, Nassau and Clay counties. Services include: birth parent counseling, residential maternity care, adoption, family foster care including pre-adoptive foster care, medically needy foster care for children with complex medical problems, therapeutic foster care for children with serious emotional and behavioral problems, and teen foster care, which is part of a network of local agencies.
