Brevard

Don't miss the Third Annual Portraits of Possibilities fundraising event on April 10!  Click here for more information.

The Brevard Division was established in 1991.  Approximately 100 division staff provide a full continuum of services to local children and families.

Our prevention programs are designed to prevent child abuse and neglect as well as low birth weight and infant mortality through the Healthy Start program.

After an incident of abuse or neglect, Dependency Case Management finds the most appropriate permanent living situation for children and, in partnership with other community agencies, works to stabilize the crisis so families may be kept together when safe to do so. When that's not possible, our shelter programs are there to lend a hand. Hacienda Girls Ranch provides a safe haven for 15 abused, neglected and/or abandoned girls ages 12-17. Individual shelter for children in need is also provided through foster care homes. For older teen and young adult women who are low-income and/or have aged out of the foster care system, we offer a Transitional Living Program to help them begin their adult lives and learn to be independent.

We also offer Children's Mental Health Services, designed to help severely emotionally disturbed children remain stable in the community so they may successfully transition into the adult world.

Visit our Services Offered page to learn more about our programs for children and families.
