9/23/2011 - Extending the Age of Foster Care to 21

Because evidence shows that youth who remain in foster care until age 21 have better outcomes when they leave care, we support creation of public policy to extend the current age of eligibility for foster care services to the age of 21.

9/23/2011 - Limiting Liability of Lead Agencies and Providers in the Community Based Care System

CHS supports legislative action to limit the liability and reduce the minimum limits of liability insurance required of lead agencies and providers in the community based care system.

9/23/2011 - Medicaid Reform: Behavioral Health Overlay Services

Children’s Home Society of Florida supports legislation that:
 Maintains Behavioral Health Overlay Services as currently operated for abused, neglected and abandoned children living in group foster care settings.
 Removes the BHOS sunset date in statute.
