PANAMA CITY, Fla. (Oct. 28, 2010)—Children’s Home Society of Florida Dependency Case Manager Lisa Coleman received the Florida Coalition for Children’s Dependency Case Manager of the Year award, recognizing her “determination, special talents and patience needed daily to bring focus and the goal of permanency to each child served.”
Coleman, who oversees the protection and care of foster children in the Emerald Coast Division of Children’s Home Society of Florida, has worked in child welfare for nearly five years; only once during that time has one of her cases resulted in the rights of a child’s parents being terminated.
“Lisa’s incredible commitment to every child in her care is absolutely astounding,” says William Coleman, Executive Director of Children’s Home Society of Florida, Emerald Coast Division. “She’s a role model for her peers, has impeccable judgment and thinks ‘outside of the box’ to best serve each child who depends on her.”
Florida Coalition for Children also honored Children’s Home Society of Florida CEO David A. Bundy with the Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing his “career filled with a lifetime of service and accomplishments that have made a difference in the lives of Florida’s neediest children and their families.” Children’s Home Society of Florida foster parents Joseph and Linda Acker were named Foster Parents of the Year by the Florida Coalition for Children.
