Message from the Chair
Have you ever had the opportunity to meet a child whose life has changed because of Children’s Home Society of Florida? I have … and my life hasn’t been the same since. Whether it was seeing a family created through adoption, reading to a child in an emergency shelter, watching a therapist coax words from a toddler born prematurely or spending time with a teen aging out of foster care, I have witnessed personally the miracles performed by the staff of Children’s Home Society of Florida.
But Children’s Home Society of Florida doesn’t perform these miracles on its own. Though a reputable leader in protecting 100,000 children and families each year, the organization relies upon the support of caring community members like you and me to help Florida’s children.
A few hours of your time could bring hope and happiness to a child who’s suffered disappointment after disappointment. An hour a week could provide the friendship and guidance a local youth’s been seeking.
Too busy to commit a full hour? How about a few minutes? Make a call to your elected officials and share with them your passion to protect Florida’s children. Join in Children’s Home Society of Florida’s efforts to advocate for legislation affecting our state’s children and families.
And, if you’re able, please donate funds to help the organization continue to provide the services that help our community’s children. Your financial support – no matter the amount -- allows Children’s Home Society of Florida to fund the programs that make a difference in the lives of children and their families. To many children, these programs are lifesavers – literally.
Though your generosity and commitment are always appreciated, your dedication to our children is needed now more than ever. Please join me in protecting and nurturing the youngsters who will be the Florida of the future. Get involved today and, if you are already involved with us, please know how much we appreciate you.
Vicki Weber
